ALIEN SEX FIEND

ALIEN SEX FIEND

Ignore the machine...!

Formed in the winter of 1982 at the Batcave club in London, the band became known in the gothic scene for their psychobilly, dark electronic, industrial sound, heavy samples and loops and manic vocals.

Comprising of frontman Nik Fiend and his spouse Mrs. Fiend as the nucleus, the band has put out a long and musically varied discography over the years. Switching easily from heavy industrial to ambient experimental styles, and everything between, fans of Alien Sex Fiend are always wondering what the next album is going to entail.

COVENANT

COVENANT

It’s a name that implies extraordinary commitment, a certain grandiosity, and a bond stronger than blood.

In 1989, the name “Covenant” was selected for the group—a name derived from the unspoken, spiritual bond the trio professes to share.

Covenant’s first release, Dreams of a Cryotank, which would spawn an important early club hit for the band, “Theremin”, a track which can still be heard on dancefloors today.

Their second Album Sequencer would launch them onto the international forefront. It would result in the band embarking on their first European tour.

Hits like “Der Leiermann”, Call The Ships To Port” and “Bullet” became their trademarks. With a spate of headlining performances at major festivals in Europe Covenant also redefined their already impressive reputation for stellar live shows.

Shortly after the release of their sixth studio Album Skyshaper, Nachmanson amicably parted ways with the band and was replaced by Haujobb’s Daniel Myer. At first brought in exclusively for live shows, Myer was, in short order, asked to join the band permanently.

DIVE

DIVE

The music - very primitive, harsh and experimental - hits like 10000 volts.

Started in 1990, Dive is the solo project of Belgian EBM pioneer and former Klinik and Absolute Body Control frontman Dirk Ivens.

Continuing the minimal, menacing electronics of early Klinik releases, but with a heavier, more saturated edge, Dive’s distinct sound has been a highly influential presence in the EBM and electro-industrial scene.

This was the start of many products with an evolving sound. With a minimum on equipment, Dirk creates a maximum of power.

His sound is copied by a lot of newcomers in the last couple of years and he proved on many stages that less means more.

THE EDEN HOUSE

THE EDEN HOUSE

... In The Eden House, there is no one singer.
Just one intention; to create a coalition of beauty in music,
vocals, talent and soul.

In this new collaborative project the core members are Stephen Carey, formerly of Ireland’s This Burning Effigy; and Tony Pettitt, originally of the influential Fields of The Nephilim. With each song various musicians have been involved bringing in their own unique talents and trademark sounds to produce the debut album that is ‘Smoke & Mirrors’.

The vocalists who have graced The Eden House are Julianne Regan (All About Eve), Evi Vine, Amandine Ferrari and Monica Richards (Faith & The Muse). Also contributing are violinist Bob Loveday (of Penguin Café Orchestra, Van Morrison, and currently Bob Geldof’s band); former Fields of The Nephilim Peter Yates, Nod Wright and Paul Wright; along with drummers Simon Rippin (Nefilim, NFD) and Bob Irwin (Van Morrison, Johnny Cash).

Erato

Erato

Through the years the band has build up quite a reputation in the dark alternative music scene and has done support acts for Crystal Entity,The Breath of Life, Two Witches, The Cruxshadows, Untoten, Skeletal Family.

Their music still sounds as promising as in the early years. Together with its members the music has evolved into honest contemporary dark rock songs without betraying their musical roots. It is no secret that the band is influenced by the death-rock, post punk, new-wave, goth-rock and electro bands of the eighties and nineties. Combining these musical influences with modern arrangements and their own typical style the band members create the unique sound of Erato.

FAITH AND THE MUSE

FAITH AND THE MUSE

While sequestering us inside the mythical and mystical environment of their Otherworldly music, they bring to light the real elements that are true within all of us: a quiet and perfect human connection that has guided our hearts throughout history, yet in this world, is commonly lost.

Faith and the Muse, formed in 1993, are vocalist and songwriter Monica Richards and William Faith.

The duo draws from a wide array of styles: gothic rock, ethereal, Celtic, post-punk, and even jazz. Neo-pagan and Celtic mythology influences much of their lyrical content.

While their sound varies greatly from song to song, their music is always highly emotional and spiritual, with a cathartic and epic character.

Their performances change from tour to tour, featuring at times theatrical and orchestral instrumentation, or quiet intimate acoustic events, and other times, straight-up hard rocking shows.

Drawing on joint and separate influences ranging from old school industrial to modern gabber, Arkana and Dräcos combine to create a sound that is at once melodic and relentlessly rhythmic.

The rhythms pound their way into your psyche with militaristic grandeur, stomping like a Teutonic march

FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY

FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY

"Jesus...had days like this"
"Cyborgs - cybernetic organisms..."

"Machines with living human tissue and programmed to destroy"

Front Line Assembly are Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber, the best-known project undertaken by the prolific Vancouver-based duo.

Influenced by early Industrial acts such as Cabaret Voltaire, Portion Control, D.A.F., Test Dept, SPK, and Severed Heads, FLA has developed its own unique sound while combining elements of EBM.

They evoke politically barbed cynicism with found spoken word samples and harrowing, distorted vocals that sound like the clarion call of Armageddon. Synths emit sharp tones that evoke anxiety, piercing peaceful, passive listening through the diaphragm; dance beats roll into the mix, offering bleak, hedonist pleasure.

FUNKER VOGT

FUNKER VOGT

WE ARE WHO WE ARE

Funker Vogt is a German EBM/Electro-band, formed by Gerrit Thomas and Jens Kästel in 1995.

Since 1996 “Funker Vogt” has published 7 albums, plus various EPs, singles and remix CDs.

“Funker Vogt” is also known as a complete work, regrouping image, music, lyrics, and stage presence into a unique theme: one of the major characteristics of Funker Vogt’s concerts is the martial appearance of the band.

ORDO ROSARIUS EQUILIBRIO

ORDO ROSARIUS EQUILIBRIO

Two is Company, Three is an Orgy and Four hands please better than Two. Welcome to the New Jerusalem!

Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio is an aesthetic constellation situated somewhere on the illusive boundary between the impending apocalypse & the orgies of ancient Rome; and accompanied by the sound of acoustic guitars, cyclic soundscapes, strings and percussions; come songs on the threshold of the sensually seductive and morally reprehensible; gospels on the verge of the conjecturally acclaimed and what's soon to be condemned.

The music is contemporarily referred to as Apocalyptic Pop, but its continuing variation over the past thirteen years extends further and perfectly congregates a variation of nuances into the distinguishing essence of that which is Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio.

Cum, join and witness for yourself, the orgies of Roses and Equilibrium.
Two is company, Three is an Orgy; I am Forever.

They were a very dramatic band, relying on heavy bass, tribal drumming, sudden mood shifts, a woozy cabaret ready sound that influenced the rise of the later Dark Cabaret scene, and yet another in a long line of goth singers with an odd, highly dramatic voice.

They remain one of the better known bands out of the early Goth scene.

TRIARII

TRIARII

Triarii is an act that when one closes their eyes they can see things happening to.

Triarii is the German martial industrial act of Christian Erdmann. He combines martial industrial with neo-classical.

A triumphal arch of bombast and orchestral swells limned with choir and dark vocals.Accentuating a dark glory of Empire strings lend the air minatory aplomb, marching without percussion usher arteries of choir and strings offering skyward libations to swell in a grandiose climax.

Gothic Festival 2010
TRIORE

TRIORE

There's a Smell to Life that dies....

A sinister seed was planted in the fertile soil of northern Europe as Christian Erdmann (Triarii) and Tomas Pettersson (Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio) gave birth to the track “Roses 4 Rome”. And now finally, the progeny has been conceived and fully developed; and what they call TriORE, has ultimately been born.

Both participants go beyond themselves and step out of normal character, but TriORE is nonetheless the embodiment of all that which is Triarii, and all that which is Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio; like a succulent apple in two opposite pieces just waiting to be devoured.

The bombastic touch of Triarii is still there; the string sections, the choirs, the martial drums and much more; alongside the eloquence of Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, musically, melodically, as well as lyrically. This is what all lovers of both bands have been waiting for.

Gothic Festival 2010
UMBRA ET IMAGO

UMBRA ET IMAGO

Mozarts motto is: Only the sub-culture creates culture, the way its always been and will be!!

The band UMBRA ET IMAGO was founded by Mozart in autumn 1991 with the purpose of creating a counter-statement to the upcoming gothic culture.
In 1992 the band started live performances, which where fueled by their visual effects from the first time on. Bottom line: The band became cult and Umbra et Imago established their own branch in goth-music. S/M-phantasies were used as their trade mark in the former asexual Indie scene, making its way to a much larger audience. The S/M-theme was chosen purposely, because it would reflect the most intellectual expression of sexuality in their minds.

The first album Traume, Sex und Tod was released in 1992, followed by Infantile Spiele one year later, which became their break-through. Gothic Erotic turned into a Club hit.

The lyrics ( as the author Mozart comments himself) come from many different influences such as literature, biographic elements and off course observation of todays life. They fall from odd subtle humor into a spotting, evil mirror of our society and its irony.

UNHEILIG

UNHEILIG

"The cities have fallen and become one; Progress determines existence. Humans have become numbers and fear their drive. Free thought, desire and love are subject to censorship. Millions accept this from the beginning to their end. Will you also go the way presented, or do you belong to those who rise in these modern times?"

Unheilig is a German Neue Deutsche Härte band, formed in 1999 and consists of Der Graf, Grant Stevens and Jose Alvarez-Brill.

Unheilig which fuses heavy guitars, dancable beats and a dose of infectious synth-driven melodicism with the brooding croon of Der Graf presiding over it all. It ends up being a very tasty combination

They are stylistically connected to the Dark Culture.

VNV NATION

VNV NATION

Victory Not Vengeance

Like the path to heaven or the road to hell
our choice is our own consequences bind.
We are the kings of wisdom, the fools as well.
We are the gods to many, we are humble men.

VNV Nation is an electronic music group formed in 1990 that combines elements of trance, synthpop and electronic body music into what they call futurepop.

VNV Nation´s inspiration was originally the clash of modern and classical Europe cultures, where mythology and technology live in an uneasy fusion but this has since broadened to encompass a world view. The music ranges from electronic dance music to ballads and classical inspired music. Inspirations are taken from a wide range of styles including contemporary underground club culture, industrial and classical music. The lyrics draw on philosophy, literature, art, politics and different forms of symbolism. VNV Nation does not advocate any ideology. It is a metaphor for expression.

The letters VNV stand for “Victory Not Vengeance”. The meaning behind this stylised motto is that one should strive to achieve, not sit in bitter regret.
